Description

APNdroid it is an open source toggle-application that can enable/disable Access Point Names (APN) to connect to internet. If you are not going to use internet for a while, you just toggle the button and the app will prevent your phone from connecting to net over 3G/EDGE/GPRS, leaving you with the basic voice call/SMS capabilities of a standard cellphone. So you can save the battery power.

The trick is that APNdroid renames your access point names and types by adding the suffix to them.

Note: Uninstall with enabled internet, or you will need to change APNs manually.

The app is not designed for CDMA networks.
Nexus One random reconnect issue is caused by Android bug #2207.

Description/changelog of APNdroid 3.0.0:

- Added new way for switching connection - native android api. It is enabled by default, for new users. Old users have to check settings
- New enhanced app design, a try to solve a problem for color blinded people
- api file signature changed, but values sent with intent are the same. Update old library only if your app need to call APNdroid from Service

Important: There were users experiencing the non-working widget in version 3.0.0. Those people may roll back to 2.1.4 or use versions higher than 3.0.0.
