APG (stands for Android Privacy Guard) is an open source Android app that provides OpenPGP functionality, such as encryption and signing of emails as well as allows keys management.

Features overview:

  • Manage secret/public keys (e.g. GPG/PGP)
  • Encrypt/sign/decrypt/verify emails and files
  • Some integration into GMail accounts on the phone
  • Integration with K-9 Mail
  • HKP Keyserver support
  • Basic key creation and editing possible (beta)
  • Intent API for other apps

Note: Internet permission is now needed for the app because of the key server support.

You can install K-9 Mail for the best integration, it supports APG for PGP/INLINE and lets you directly encrypt/decrypt emails. It is also recommended that you install OI File Manager or ASTRO File Manager to be able to use the browse button for file selection in APG.
