FindItNow (aka FIN) is an Android app designed to help you locate fast various items and services оn the University of Washington campus.
Unlike Google Maps, it operates on small-scale regions. This allows to track restrooms, cafes, dining, supply stores, vending machines, mailboxes, and other items that none of the popular map and location apps are capable of. The app has been built to be clean, fast, and extensible, with the solitary goal of helping you find things as quickly as possible.
This application currently supports the following regions:
- University of Washington, Seattle
- Western Washington University
FindItNow will allow users to add new locations of services to the current database. The system will provide enough detail so the users are able to locate certain services on a specific level of a building. It will be modular in nature to allow for the project to be extended. FindItNow app can be expanded to virtually any campus in the world. If you are interested in bringing FindItNow to your campus or region, contact developers at firstname.lastname@example.org
This is an open source project that was previously named Recycle Locator. FindItNow was developed for a software engineering project at the University of Washington by Dustin Abramson, Mai Dang, Michael Falcone, Eric Hare, Chanel Huang, Jillyn Johnson and Jared Jones.
