T9 Config Utility is a helpful Smartphone 2002 utility. It unbounds the User Interface language from the language of T9 input, thus letting you type freely in any language.
By default, the Smartphone 2002 platform links the phone user interface language and T9 predictive text input language. For example, this linkage effectively makes writing German text with an English language phone impossible.
This program allows you to make these assignments freely and according to your preferences.
Usage:
After starting T9 Config, you will see two lists labeled "Locale" and "DLL File". The first list shows all locales (user interface languages) available on your phone. The second list contains all supported T9 input languages, displayed as the DLL file supplying this functionality. Part of the DLL filenames indicates the language (e.g. t9german.dll).
Note: The languages available are dependent on your phone manufacturer. It's possible that you only have one locale and T9 language available.
When you change the current item in "Locale", the currently associated T9 language is shown in "DLL File". You can then change the associated DLL by moving to the list and changing the file.
No changes are made to the phone's registry until you select the "Done" menu button. You can always cancel without changes by choosing the "Cancel" button.
After choosing "Done" and saving changes, you need to restart the phone to make the changed settings active.
